Instagram Versus Reality

So I'm pretty sure there's not another thread like this (that I have access to and could find), and it's something I find pretty interesting to see. This thread is basically to compare what Instagram "models" or "public figures" look like on their accounts (with their beloved photoshop apps) versus what they look like in reality when somebody else is taking the photo. And you can also post about some of the extensive work these insta models have had done too if you want since that is also pretty crazy to see.

So to start off, here is Meredith Mickelson on her Instagram versus on her first runway show just last week.

I saw all those Meredith photos on Twitter and you beat me to posting them here Angles, filters, and a fuuuck ton of Facetune (her jaw is SO liquefied in every picture she posts!) really go miiles for ig models. D&G is has been a mess lately though so I guess she fits in perfectly.

Madison Beer, Sahar Luna and Kelsey '@fatherkels' Cal-something on Instagram would fall under this category too I think, I've seen some pages "expose" them for having nose jobs and potential other work done and their photos are very obviously over-edited like Meredith's. My friends and I were talking about this the other day, I can try to go back and find the before and after photos... and of course a thousand other examples from more ig models

I was shocked when I saw the photos and pulled up her instagram to see that the comparison photos weren't even from awhile ago, one was only 2 weeks ago. So it's not like she gained a lot of weight, she really does just edit her photos THAT much. Figured it'd be a funny thread because there's so many Instagram "models", odds are more than half of them edit their photos to the extreme.

Yeah her jaw is just a bunch of fat, unlike the sharp one she has in her Instagram photos. And I agree with the Elsa hosk statement, she makes herself look so thin on her Instagram. I do think she is actually pretty though. She is somewhat skinny, but definitely not as thin as she portrays herself to be

These are some photos all from around the same time (May/June)

The first two are from her Instagram, while the third is from VS I believe, and the last is a candid. As you can tell, she looks much thinner in the ones she posted, and a lot less toned in the ones she did not.

Another girl that comes to mind is Alexis Ren. Like her use of angles, filters and facetune is on a whole other level, in my opinion.

Her face looks SO different in recent candids - different even from her natural-looking Brandy catalogue shoots from a couple years ago which I assume wouldn't be heavily photoshopped like her instagram posts, or old campaigns for cheap online clothes sites. I wonder if it's bad aging or some surgeries or both.

I'm so confused. Did they actually get lip filters and whatever done at that age?? Or it's facetune? Hoping it's the latter.... Like who tf would be okay with their 16yo child getting filters. That's fucked up.
