I was referring to her character in The Queen’s Gambit with the stuck up comment and not her as a person, but maybe that was the intention of the portrayal of the character
She's probably capitalising / building on the elfin or alienesque image. I mean, how often do you see aliens portrayed as being all smiles?

I can agree with you, the same goes for her role in peaky blinders, who was quite hard to like. I personally find her even more sympathetic by being private about her life rather than super outgoing in order to receive more attention from the public. That’s probably my introverted self speaking who can relate to her.
I just feel like her character had so much more potential for us to sympathize with, but instead, she never portrays it 100% with her sadness, happiness, sorrow and excitements. It was completely flat somber character that never cracks a single smile or even twinkle in the eyes. No character depth or development whatsoever .I can agree with you, the same goes for her role in peaky blinders, who was quite hard to like. To me, that’s unfortunate because even though they are trying to portray her as fiery and angry, it can’t ALWAYS be the same two moods. If there were more facets for us to see, it would be able to contrast against the angry moods much more.
Therefore, I didn’t find her character in The Queen’s Gambit very endearing or to be sympathized with.
This is not to say I do not like her as an actress, but I also see mostly the same flat toned look most of the time even in paparazzi photos which makes me inevitably think she’s kind of stuck in that character mind frame.

She is looking better and better! Her calves are always a little iffy, but I think she's really working on it.
She's not SG skinny but I think she's one of the better shaped celebrities, along with Zendaya, and definitely fighting hard for the look.

Oh my god when was this filmed??? Did she lose a large amount of weight really quickly (or gain?) She just looks so different.
Well, usually movies are filmed a year or two before their release. I’m assuming the release of Last Night In Soho was delayed because of the pandemic so if it meant to come out in 2020 then i’d say it was probably filmed in 2019 or around then. On a side note, that dress does not do her any favors. Looks terrible imo lol.
