If I'm honest, I really disagree. To me, she is the (celebrity) epitome of a waste of a face. Not in that she can't stay thin, but in that she dresses herself like someone who drunkenly stumbles around the Dollar Store at 2 AM. If she looked like she showered more frequently, I can't say I'd be completely off-board.

This phenomenon of embracing talentless, young B-list and reality/Disney-esque stars floors me. Why are so many young women being hyper-sexualized in an aim at Instagram stardom? Why do people ‘brand’ themselves in such a tasteless way? So you can produce a selfie, so what?
My good friend mentioned the other day that she was ‘obsessed with Bella Thorne’ and showed me a few of her Instagrams. My friend is 23. I really don’t get why people (especially our age) fetishize curvy / sexualized young celeb. I sound like my mom but whatever.
Personally, I would prefer to look at the likes of Millie Bobby Brown who uses her Instagram for advocacy, film promotion, and a sprinkle of humor. She’s only 13 and I can idolize her as a classy young actress vs feeling creepy for staring at some 19 year old exposing herself on social media (and might regret doing so as she matures). And no, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a woman who wants to feel sexually empowered / represent herself in her own way, but when it becomes a movement (like that of Kylie, Emily Ratajkowski, Alexis Ren) it feels cheap and commodified.
Plus she always looks drugged out or dirty and homeless. Sometimes a combo of all three. It’s like she seriously puts effort into being a white trash idol.
Not to be that person, but being homeless is not synonymous with being crude and vulgar. I don't mean to be nit-picky, but it is something to be cognizant of. Lots of homeless people are good people with decency and integrity that are just in a shit scenario.

Her appearance is her choice, although I am simply displaying why many people have come to the conclusion that she has a substance abuse problem. Take for example, her appearance below in around 2014 where many saw her as a healthy Disney star. We mock people for being overweight (even average weight) and you're criticising someone for a passing flippant comment associating homeless people with being unclean? Of course lots of homeless people are good people with decency and integrity - so are obese people! Can we please chill just a little!
I expected to be called out for putting it out there and was surprised by the positive reactions, honestly.
But the language we use constructs our reality and the realities of others.
I work with the young adult trans population, many are or have been homeless because of abuse, violence, and rejection from families. I'm attuned to language choice and hear firsthand really shit things people hear of themselves and internalize over being homeless. So, yes, I am more sensitive to it because of my personal life. I picture the faces and words of people I know.
