I rarely check the Hadid thread, as they're just too fugly for me to deal with (and when I do, it's to expound on sociological issues, as is my wont :hahano:), and I was pretty distracted when I poked in here, so

No idea what you're trying to prove here by adding a picture of your legs

at first, I honestly thought--given the commonalities of black pantyhose and something puffy/soft and bluish-gunmetal with silver hardware on top--that the shot was of Gigi sitting down, from her Insta stories or whatever!

@nycskinny perhaps you feel that I on occasion show up and poke holes in what you say, but I hope you realize that I'm genuinely there to make a point, and actually try to be nice and acknowledge the merits of your posts. (This is ofc the meanest I've ever been, and I could certainly be meaner...eg, you may wish to be more judicious in using the term "game theory" without appropriate(ly-rigorous) explication :sneaky:)

This is also sort of a PSA to all rookies....

Some of you--those who aren't obviously overwhelmingly idiotic--are just getting affectionately roughed up a bit. You're not doing a bad job of assimilating, and are unnecessarily thin-skinned when people come along trying to "put you in your place" or whatever. I've always been as "outspoken" (another member's characterization) as I am now, which led to my being "designated the forum piñata" (yet another member's characterization). Yes, SGF is "democratic" in that it's one person, one react (with the exception of runts and early-stage rookies, who are the analogue of minors); but you may find that you'll more easily earn the respect of those whose respect you truly care for by not just being respectful, but also demonstrating some conviction. (Ofc, I'm just a worker bee with a mediocre karma-post ratio, so feel free to ignore all of that :whistling:)

@leolady that goes for you, too. You're a US law student, no? Polemic is all fine and dandy, but--to rather melodramatically make a point--isn't Atticus Finch a childhood inspiration for some of you? I personally didn't roll my eyes at your roundabout way of saying "bulimia cheeks"; I think you were just trying to dance around it because you weren't sure it was OK to say the term outright here. If anything, it was your multiple jumpy (seemingly more alarmed than sincere) apologies that made me roll my eyes. Chill out...you're doing great (and have pissed off admirably few people for how prolific you've been); you're refreshingly articulate, and I for one like your spunk.

Anyway, back to the regularly-scheduled Hadid programming potshots.

Why thanks! Spunk...I love it 😚 :luv:

I genuinely did feel badly though. I suggested something that, if true, shouldn’t be snickered at and felt recognition of that was in order. I like that people on here generally call it like they see it. If I had looked back and felt I didn’t actually deserve some chiding, I wouldn’t have apologized, but reading back I had to admit “oh god, yeah, they’re right.” :badgirl:

You’re in real trouble when your fat is rippling through your tights... from the Chanel post in slo mo

Still doesn’t beat the flower Michelin man quote 😂

View attachment 72164

Marked it in red for you in the post - I can’t get over the thigh fat, or the fact that it exists on the Chanel runway... the block that should be her waist is unfortunate too. She’s not exactly reverse thinspo at this point, but the thought of fat trying to come out from under my tights did scare me enough to have coffee for breakfast....

I’m not perfect either, but at least my tights can keep my legs contained... and that’s not what I get paid to do 😶

What am I supposed to be looking at here?

Two sets of shameful thighs in cheap tights?

... that was my take away at least.

Emily should only take photos with Bella from now on. Best she's ever looked.

Bella for Versace FW. Arms looking “incredible” as ever :whistling:.

I really wonder HOW the skin on her body has already aged so much. She looks well over 30 here and its not just the haggardness of her face. Its kind of insane to me to think that she is only a year older than I am. She doesn't even look like she tans much so I can't help but wonder how the skin around her armpits and legs looks so crepey.

On another note, this picture looks to me like she actually has quite a small frame (based on her calves) but is VERY skinny-fat, which makes her proportions look strange since her lower legs are almost the size of her arms. Its disappointing that she won't put in the effort to maintain her body when she could look like this:

Instagram post vs GettyImages.
I cannot believe (ok, I can) how many shows she’s still walking, and it makes me so irritated because she’s worn some looks that would be jaw-dropping on the better runway girls. Waste of fashion.

Just speculating but - she really plays the healthy and fit card but her face atm has the look of the very common late night fashion week routine of ciggies and coke. Not like I think there's anything wrong with that - good to have fun and party while you're young and rich, and am guilty of indulging in both myself, but just saying that her overall image when unphotoshopped does not align with the image she presents.

Nepotism grants the shows, that's a given but the fact that the dress looks like a tube top on her because it's two sizes too small for her isn't really good press for the designers either to present models like this *:slinkout: Reminds me of those small-town women who think a bit too much (and too little size-wise) of themselves and show up in the nightclub scene in this aesthetic; yeah, might be dripping in designer but it really doesn't matter when one manages to looks this cheap either way. Cellulite on full display with a sequin dress on that looks like a top because it's too small, you see the picture I'm trying to paint?

*) Not saying I'd want them to make bigger dresses for the Hadids lol, but to hire a pretty skinny model who can actually do their job

Sorry for the delayed reply here! Did want to post to address, though this is now old news - I made a mistake! I realize and apologize - the photo itself was very substandard and brought down the forum, I should've thought harder before posting etc. Let other rookies see and not tread my path!

I'm under the BMI requirement and my thighs aren't shameful in photos from other angles posted in SGF threads (eg. it's clearer that the black in between is a gap), though there are a lot of people on this site that I look up to and bodies I am working toward having / coming close to again! It's very easy to get into a bubble when the majority of your co-workers are male and the only girls are older admins. That's why I would like to still be a contributing / active member here - because the baseline here is the best of the best, so thanks to you all for maintaining that and for helping me improve this past month. Because as we know, the bare minimum is not the standard :nervous:
Hopefully this provided some no-calorie entertainment :drama:I won't lie - I care and respect you ladies - but react away :) and back to ghee ghee

Offense is never taken! :) With respect to the Liu Wen comment, I thought the same as I was typing, but hit enter anyways because she's one of my all time favorites. I will say economics was one of my majors in college, so I don't take game theory lightly :)

@nycskinny I am not altogether satisfied with the points you've made. I have, inter alia, made clear elsewhere my strong belief that degrees and diplomas should be left for other members to surmise, that "show, don't tell" is more tasteful and meaningful.

However, I commend you for not having run away after so many people e-barfed on a photo of your thighs. I was not sure we'd see any more of you for a long while at least, and I'm glad to have been proven wrong :flower:

To be fair, not something I would've posted in an intro thread - totally agree with you :) but happy to proof with you any time.

Ha yes and no MPA posts or angry twitter rants...

As a model (obviously!!!) and as a person too. It's hard to describe, I wouldn't say there is a particular thing, it's the personality in general - annoying in a way, wants everyone to like her, would do everything for some sort of success (except maybe actually stop eating junk :hahano:). Desperate in a way maybe? There's something in her vibe that is very off and weird, but I absolutely have no idea how to explain it. But as she also really tries to be kind it makes it extremely hard to dislike her. I really do have completely opposing thoughts about her. I want to hate her, but she is still amiable irl so I can't. I apologise, I feel like I didn't really answer your question, but it is difficult to point it out.

THIS!!!!
She's *nice* (in that non-offensive, saccharine way) but about as bright as a piece of tupperware and just as vulgar. Literally has zero confidence (hence the porn-y instagram vibe, eating disorder, and multiple surgeries, which yes, I'm guilty of too) so she is 100% dependent on other people to fund her self-worth and will ABSOLUTELY change personality to match the perceived social vibe and fit in-----> 'homeboy comin' thru with these' turns into non-rhotic 'darlings' in Cannes :EYEROLL: :EYEROLL: pretty much the dictionary definition of 'insubstantial'. Idk how she will manage when she hits 35 and can't surf on her looks to the same extent.

end rant

So, to dredge up an oh-so-popular discussion in this thread (or maybe it was just my posts :hahano:), it seems that--whatever the social context, vis-à-vis what's regarded as acceptable behavior, and what certain power dynamics are--

She's 23; she has a brain and a moral compass. What do they tell her?

Bella's people-pleasing inclinations would not have allowed her to stand up for what she believes in (whatever exactly that may be).

(Also,
Idk how she will manage when she hits 35

as someone who's in a decent position to judge how one ought to look midway through the fourth decade of life, I'll just say........even on the aesthetic merits alone, Nicolas Sarkozy would probably not want to trade in his wife for the girl who bought her face, even if the latter is nearly 30 years younger.)

She doesn't come across as especially obsequious, moreso unsure (living in Gigi's shadow? Esp from early age) and very malleable. Whatever the reasons she has significantly altered her face at an early age ... and as someone standing on the other side of the youth fence I heartily agree with the Nicolas Sarkozy sentiment.

*full disclaimer random Wed happy hour happened this eve so if I'm not making entire sense... well 🥂
