I love her as a model and she's gorgeous and consistent with her body, but I'm actually not a huge fan of her acting. This may be an unpopular opinion and I also may or may not get roasted for this but while her acting isn't bad, it's not as good as people make it out to be imo. She did well for her first role with no training, but I don't think her performance was Emmy worthy. Most of what she had to do for the role was look serious and brooding and be cold and sarcastic, except for the scene where she cries out of desperation for her friend after the marble game. Her character is quite different from her natural personality, yes, but that's literally the bare minimum of being an actress - acting different from your natural personality.
I think a lot of why she got nominated was because Asian pride is all the rage right now and traditionally white-dominated and (probably) racist award ceremonies are trying to seem "diverse" for extra PC points with the public. And I'm saying that as an Asian. I love seeing Asian representation, but I am also conflicted because I don't think her acting was Emmy worthy.
Also, sort of unrelated side note, Crazy Rich Asians was a shit movie and I hate the stereotypes it put out about Asians. The only good thing about that movie was that the lead actress and love interest was Asian but the lead actor who played Nick Young wasn't even a fucking full -blooded Asian.
