They don't really. When you look at backstage photos up close their skin is usually pretty bad. Harleth in particular, Kasia's used to be quite bad etc. You can't see it from far away

Exactly! I absolutely despise smoking, and even consider it mild cheating for weight loss, as it does reduce the appetite.

After looking at these photos, I actually think that smoking makes the models look a bit cheap. They're all so beautiful, tall, skinny and elegant. The second I see a cigarette in their hand I feel as though that elegance is lost and they suddenly look very average.
Same here! Smoking has become pretty uncool now, so many (including myself) people have quit and it's not that glamorous anymore, rather the opposite. Smokers are not yet a rare sight and it definitely depends on where you live but even here in Eastern Europe there has been a big change in the last 5-6 years.
