They look great, but most other women could not make those same clothes look as good as they do. My dad calls larger people or people with weird body shapes "clothes ruiners" for a reason. There are people that make clothes look good (like Kate and Rosie) and there are people that clothes just look like crap on (like Venus and Serena). I wouldn't call Venus and Serena reverse thinspo, though. I kind of exempt them completely since they are athletes and clearly worked VERY hard to get those bodies. It's not something that's even in the realm of possibility for any of us.

Good point, Jane. I must say, I still think Serena's back and butt up close are pretty off-putting. I bet she weighs a bit less in the warmer months when she's competing. She really could have picked something that looked more flattering, that's for sure.

Her dresses are aallllways a variation on the column shape, in white, black or silver, sometimes with side boob, sometimes complete with superhero cape, as above :grin: I mean Girlfriend is hot but it wouldn't hurt to branch out.

Okay, I get where you're coming from with the leg...being defiant and all...but I don't think she got the reaction she was hoping for. I think she was hoping for sexy. Every time she did that, I thought "desperate" over "provoking".

You're right, it might be that mess of a face that made me feel sorry for her instead of proud.
 
I didn't mean that Serena and Venus are reverse thinspo, because I know they're athletes and everything. :D I just think that Serena's dress is awfully unflattering - her bust for example looks so weird. At the top her boobs almost fall out and below that it looks like she doesn't have any. Also the gown just gets too tight at the bottom, before it flares out into that mermaid hemline, because her thighs look very squished.

I loved Emma Stone's red Oscar dress (bow and all, I think it would have been too plain without), and I think she just looked lovely overall. I liked the pics of Rosie and Kate someone posed. And I actually quite liked Victoria's dress for the Vanity Fair after-party..

Who looked BAD? J-Lo (double time), Emma's after-party dress (WTF?), Venus and Serena, Angie (or at least WEIRD) and.. Meryl Streep, legendary actress.. So glad she won, and I know she's older so its a bit more difficult, but THAT DRESS.. Urgh, atrocious. Those are the 'Honorable Mentions' for me :)
 
Ew, they all look pretty bad. Selena looks okay but her dress is so boring. Katy looks horrid with that blue hair and her dress looks like a cheap and tacky dress that you find in a novelty store. Even though it probably cost a few thou. Jennifer's chest is making me blind and Miley looks stumpy and boring.
