These photos have been getting a lot of attention from Chinese users from Sui’s unprecedented use of self-tanner; however, I was surprised to find many comments about her “shocking” thinness. As an American outsider looking in, I thought the beauty standards in China still favored the skinny look—is there a shift happening or is this just another case of average people not understanding extreme angles?
