Ballet practice every day even while traveling to a different country with a packed schedule.
You can tell that it’s not some miserable sort of masochistic discipline and that the work is what allows her to be most eloquently herself and express her vibrancy through her art.
Will make a thread about her when I’m on my computer because she’s distinguished herself in her own right and feel certain she is going to have a prolific flourishing career before her (and which is already underway). God she’s incredible…
Read an interesting post that included the height/weight requirements for the Vaganova Ballet Academy :
"Top table is girls height/weigh requirement, the bottom one is boys.
The column on the left indicates the height (in cm), the column next to it indicates the corresponding weight (in kg).
Example:
The ideal weight for a 174cm (5.7ft) tall girl is 49.8kg (109.8lb)
The ideal weight for a 168cm (5.5ft) tall girl is 45.7kg (100lb)
The ideal weight for a 155cm (5ft) tall girl is 37kg (81.5lb)
Weight fluctuation allowed for girls over 170cm (5.5ft) tall: +/- 2kg (4.4lb)
Weight fluctuation allowed for girls under 169cm (5.5ft) tall: +/- 1kg (2.2lb)
*Note that according to the chart in the above illustration, the 5’7” Russian girl could weigh up to 109.79 pounds, but according to the chart below, a 5’7” foreign female student may not weigh more than 103.6 lbs (47 kilograms)."
