Ask a model anything

That's actually really mean :(
The model obviously now knows that she needs to be using something along the lines of a tampon, so that doesn't happen again. She must have not known and it's already embarrassing enough. It really depends how important the stylist is in the fashion industry, but her agency probably sat her down telling her that she needs to use tampons so it doesn't ruin the clothing. It's not like she purposely did it. She is young. Aw I just want to give her a big hug.

It's standard procedure over here. After the shoot, either we call or the agency calls for feedback about their models. Well our stylist wasn't too mean, she just told the agency that their model should've just spoken up that she was having her period and asked for a tampon, instead of keeping quiet and getting found out after 3 samples have already been stained. She must have been terrified and didn't dare say a word during the shoot.

I felt really sorry for her - in the end I was the one who gave her a tampon and took her to the studio showers to get herself cleaned up.

Ah well in that case - that's different. The way you said it earlier seemed like the stylist called just to complain about the girl. She should of spoken up, that was dumb I have to admit, but I still feel bad.

One model I worked with at a photoshoot stained 2 ivory Valentino gowns and a pale pink Dior dress with her menstrual blood because she was too embarrassed to admit her period started. :( I felt a little sorry for her because she was really young, but our fashion stylist went batshit insane. I hope the model wasn't too traumatized, and I hope she invested in super heavy duty tampons since then.

Oh my god that poor girl. I hope her agency understood to some point, it's traumatizing enough! On that note I hope the stylist didn't get too much shit from the clothing suppliers.

I think that you are asking if that if you do too much cardio, then you will gain weight? My bookers love their girls doing tons of cardio because there is no chance in bulking up and you will just tone down. It's a great way to up your metabolism and shred calories.

cardio, its ok! but no weights,or things to bulk you up!

I like to stay well under 1000calories a day, especially now because I try to eat only 1 meal a day (dinner). Because I do alot of fitness classes and the cardio machines (especially ellipticals) are not accurate, I have no idea how many calories I burn! I'd like to think I burn atleast 500calories at the gym.

@SugarFree, do you mind if I ask, are you losing weight (since you're eating less than 1000 cal/day and also exercising?)

Also, do you track your calories in your head? Or write them down?

That just sucks......while we're on the subject, do most models stop getting their period because of their weight? I mean I always assumed yes because I don't get mine anymore and I always see models as skinnier than me soooo:whistling: any ideas??

Indeed I am. I'm really lazy with counting my calories - even though I should :run:

Looking at Models eat thread, I was thinking about specific issue. As far as I understand, you get your hair and makeup done, and get dressed afterwards. So, how do you handle taking your clothes off and putting on the runway clothes, especially with big hairdos? Any funny stories to share? ;)

If she was already 16 and she got her first period, I dare to say she's naturally skinny. :p

Definitely!! Same here, I always want to get the photographer and/or client on the phone, especially newer faces. I want to know how she was to work with, what she needs to fix/work on.

Oh - and, if she menstruated on any client gowns that cost as much as my car, I also like to know that, so I can beat her to within an inch of her life.

This. No excuse.

But what she should have done, if she was uncomfortable with the crew, was call/tell her booker.

You're nice, but $50k late. ;)

Usually you don't - someone else does it, often several people.

Theres no way that's true. Barbara Palvin probably has a 27-28" waist but there is no way a normal sized model is that big.

27" is just so....large. :nervous:

I know .___. I think my waist was 26 or 27 when I got fat in college.

Even now, with my massive hips, my waist is still 25! .___.

thought you guys might be interested in this. its the contents of my fridge.....

That fridge's bareness is beautiful! :luv: I seriously can't wait to live by myself. It's the absolute worst when you're craving something, and it's literally in the next room... :meh:

This. I can't wait to be able to cook and plan my own meals, and only keep healthy food around .___.

I'd also be able to buy a single pumpkin and make soup to freeze and have enough for the whole month O:

To save $$$ on your fridge's energy consumption, you could actually fill it up with bottles of water and wine (because it's chic :p) because it takes less energy to cool the air inside since there's less empty space in it.

Oh! I also have another might-be-useful tip. You can actually store perfumes in your fridge, especially if they have natural ingredients in them (not the synthetic stuff from the usual mass market brands, but more artisanal and/or traditional perfumes like those from Guerlain). A nose (as in perfumer lol) told me that perfumes are like wine or liquor - they can mature over time if stored properly and actually smell better and more intense after a few years of storage!

I think we have the same fridge........we had similar contents until my boyfriend moved in!

We need to do a contents of your fridge thread! I'm moving into my new place on Friday and it will motivate me to keep it un-stocked.
