does anyone now look of photos of Gemma in her prime and wonder what all the fuss was about her being so thin? she is bigger than I remember (still thin of course, but just good thin to me, not 'alien' skinny as everyone used to describe her). have my perceptions changed, or have models gotten skinnier I wonder.

A bit of both I think.
Of what I recall, she was mostly praised for her facial structure, more than for her body (which was amazing back then, though)
Sadly, she´s one of that girls whose face looks stunning while they´re thin, but bland when they gain.
I´m glad she´s back and all, but I still doubt she will ever look like she did previously, body-wise.

Gosh she is so beautiful. I would love to see her return to her skinny self, but somehow I doubt it.
Her upper body was pretty tiny, at her thinnest (a few backstage pics, she was wearing a strapless dress). Her hips were wide and her legs were not spectacular.

Gemma was one of my first favorite models ever. I was obsessed with her and thought she was a goddess!!!!!
I remember when she opened the 2005 Dior show and she looked amazing!!!!:
Also, I used to not like Sasha P, because I thought she was a Gemma look alike, a copy of an original; the Gemma Ward. But that was a along time ago when I was a tween and had various obsessions about everything, including high fashion. Aaaah the years of being a tween, it's interesting how I used to perceive things. Every thing/one I liked just seemed to be more beautiful, exotic and ethereal; like more enhanced than how I see them now.

I think skinny Gemma really is the most beautiful model of all time. She looks so wonderful in this picture
I know I'm just repeating what everyone else has said but I'm holding on to the shred of hope that perfect skinny Gemma can return
