In addition to how shocking her weight gain is, I just find it truly crazy to have evidence this clear of how being thin can make you seem so much taller than you are, and vice versa.

Seconded. And to add, being skinny just gives every shoot an extra shot of etherealism. Now that she gained, this just looks like a shoot straight from 1st year of fashion school. Not even, it screams highschool fashion-craft project.

I am guessing at her prime, she was around BMI 14-15 and now she ranges around low 17 to mid 17.
I want to say that perhaps at a straight forward angle and mostly uncovered ( first picture), the body tends to appear “bigger” than at other angles and clothed ( since you won’t be able to see the thighs or upper arms which are problem areas for most people).

To me, Kaia has always looked like a wet slice of bread. Boxy body with zero contour. It was less bothersome to me at her lower weights since her flabby, untoned body still looked dainty. Now she’s bigger and the layer of fat under her skin is shining brighter than ever and it irritates me to no end.

I am telling you, I am in my first year of fashion school and even my shoots, styling, etc. look better than this cover shoot...

Have to say I’m not actually surprised at all.
Now that modelling is clearly not her priority, I was wondering how long it would be before she gave acting a go. What will be surprising is if she turns out to be any good...

Actually Cindy has the exact same asymmetry in her eyes! Noticed that clearly in the Vogue interview @skinnymodel2001 posted.

I’m not surprised especially when they are nepotistic models to begin with who don’t need the money. They did/ do modeling for the status and because it’s a natural path when they already grew up in the limelight and have an easy ticket in.
After dabbling here and there and being on a couple of covers thin or fat, they move onto the next best thing usually acting. This happens especially after some weight gain or when they feel “bored” from modeling when they have been there done that.
See Cara Delevigne , Lily Rose Depp etc.

In terms of do I think she would be as successful of an actress as she is a model, I’m leaning towards no. She will get some opportunities due to her fame, but it’s going to be hard for her to breakthrough the “trying acting as a model” stereotype after some initial acting gigs and people see she isn’t that talented.
There’s also too much competition in acting since there’s no restrictions of height, weight or appearance.

She should just stick to what she “was” good at which is modeling. First lose those pounds.

I don't like Kaia and the photos are tacky, but I don't think we can say she looks like a pig.
She's still the skinniest of all nepo models and didn't gain that much weight. She probably won't stay in the modelling industry anyway.

It‘s more the pose that bothered me therefore
a picture of a pig came into my mind.
I do and always will have a soft spot for kaia but what annoys me is that there are soo many great models who would really would deserve a big campaign job for Calvin Klein like this.
Not to mention that what she is doing is just laying in this picture and squeezing her boobs together. It is neither appealing or aesthetic in my eyes. I’m not a model but even I wouldn’t want to look as lazy as she does in this picture...

She's not fat but for Kaia even the smallest gain makes her fall completely off my radar because I already find her bone structure and overall aesthetic extremely boring and plain to look at. The literal only thing holding my attention were her out-of-this-world legs (RIP, 2017-2020).

I don't expect her to be great at acting but neither do I find her a particularly captivating model... it really began and ended at the legs for me.

It’s wild how a face that looks so similar to her supermodel mother’s is so forgettable. For her sake, I hope she does well acting, because I don’t see her having much longevity in the fashion world if she continually gains.
