Kendall Jenner

Actually I like Kendall more than Gigi. Something about the Hadids just rubs me the wrong way. Kendall at least *sort of* works.

Kate Upton isn't even a model so that's not a relevant comparison.

Work as in the verb, in comparison to her family. Not as in passing qualification as a legit model.
Seriously? At least a few of the others are business women. Kendall hasn't done SHIT, and the first indication is her body. However, I do also get vibes she's not the happiest/healthiest person for some reason. She seems pretty depressed as of lately.

If by "business women" you mean "attention seeking shrews" then ok. I don't see any of them with degrees (source), and my guess is someone else behind the scenes does most of the math/marketing and lets them take the credit.

I don't say this to defend Kendall or attack you, by the way, I'm just cynical about the whole family.

She was in better shape to begin with, but I think it's harder for her to keep up now.

I agree. Although if I remember right Kendall has lost 'some' weight since starting...although Gigi has kept gaining since forever now. They are both 'meh' though.

Edit; was going to add that Kendall's poses are even more horrendous than Gigi's and Gigi's walk is worse than Kendall's. They have really blatant issues.

I don't watch the Kardashians, so I can't tell you much, but the only business woman in that family imo is the mother. Actually reading all of your responses, maybe I'm way off base in thinking Kendall somewhat works, because I have honestly have no idea what that family does on the daily. I'm assuming you girls know what you're talking about.

I still stand by my statement that she's less annoying than the Hadids though.

This is such a rough pic. It seems like she had her lips done ? Everyone is doing it nowadays.

She's walking everything. The world is garbage. I hate everyone. Are all of these brands' success and prestige so fragile that they have to bandwagon to get press? Or are there that many trashy teen 1%-ers who will and can buy whatever Gigi/Kardashians/LilyRose wear? Just asking questions. No one actually seems to like them. I started working for a "big house" brand and the way the executives(?) talk really blew my mind. They manically count their covers, the dresses reserved by celebrities for events, pieces used in music videos, et cetera. I thought models and small designers were the only ones who had this almost toxic rat-racing attitude. I just figured, at that level, there would be some sort of glory or pride. Nope.

I hope this is just a trend...like peplum tops and mullet skirts. Like all bad trends, it will surely die and no designer would be caught dead with a fat reality star/socialite/child from famous parents on their runways. It's not a matter of if but when. At least, that's what I keep telling myself!

as long as social media/internet celebrity is a novelty (and it's becoming saturated, luckily) this will be a fad. I really hope we get used to it/normalize it (it meaning internet fame, social media, so on) soon, because exactly then is when it loses it's appeal and stops becoming a trend....

Because trends and the 'cool' factor change so quickly. Being cool now does not guarantee future success. Chanel and Versace were almost bankrupt.
You MUST constantly strive to stay ahead of the float. Not doing so is incredibly naive, asking for failure and to be honest, very stupid.
Hello Luella, Lacroix, Ed Hardy etc. Those examples show it is not tied to one spectrum of the fashion pyramid.

You are only as good as your last collection and sales. It's the same as models - who cares if you were cool 3 seasons ago if you aren't now?

It's the same for most businesses - Coke and McDonalds included. Even law firms, banks, accounting firms etc. It's a rat race for EVERYONE. You hire the best and fire the poor performers. No one wants to be 'fat' (pardon the pun).
